
Tradition Two: For our group purpose there is but one ultimate authority — a loving God as He may express Himself in our group conscience. Our leaders are but trusted servants; they do not govern.
Lambda has several service opportunities. Below is a list of our trusted servant positions and details about how they serve our home group. The servants meet once a month at our business meeting. All members are also encouraged to attend.
Group Chair - 1 year term 5 year sobriety requirement - Group Chair shall approve the agenda of the business meeting; preside at the business meeting, ensure adherence of bylaws, coordinate activities with other trusted servants, assume responsibilities of other trusted servants when necessary to ensure continuity and smooth operation of the group; act as a liaison of the group to outside entities (including the Center 12).
Group Co-Chair - 1 year term 4 year sobriety requirement – Will perform any/all duties of chair in the event they’re unable; assume when necessary, the responsibility to confirm all scheduled meetings have a chair, and meeting chairs have access to the building/literature needed to chair, thus ensuring continuity and smooth operation of the group.
Secretary - 1 year term 2 year sobriety requirement – Secretary shall set the agenda of the business meeting 1 week prior to meeting; attend and keep the minutes of the business meeting; post all notices/minutes/motions on the bulletin board 1 week following the business meeting; responsible for maintenance of the Lambda Group phone listing (if available) and posting on the bulletin board; maintenance of Lambda Group documents as needed (Policies and Procedures, meeting scripts, group news announcements regarding events and speakers, etc.). Maintains front and back-end duties to ensure smooth operation of the Lambda Group website. This includes keeping current the group meeting schedule, documents, event postings, group address, link access, addressing glitches, ensuring code is correct, etc.
Treasurer - 1 year term 5 year sobriety requirement – The Treasurer will have the custody of all funds of the group, including collection of donations and payment of rent and other obligations; becomes a signer on the bank account; maintains financial books of groups posts on the bulletin board 1 week prior to the business meeting a written report detailing the financial status of group, including receipts and disbursements' of funds, and gives this report at the business meeting.
Co-Treasurer –1 year term 4 year sobriety requirement - Will perform any/all duties of treasurer in the event they’re unable; becomes a signer on the bank account.
Group Service Representative (GSR) - 1 year term, 1 year sobriety requirement – GSR serves as the groups link to AA as a whole and reports the groups thoughts to the DCM and North East Texas Area Delegate, attends District and NETA Area meetings.
Alternate Group Service Representative (GSR) - 1 year term, 1 year sobriety requirement – Will perform any/all duties of GSR in the event they’re unable.
Treatment Chair – 1 year term, 1 year sobriety requirement – Facilitates and coordinates outreach to treatment centers and other PI/CPC opportunities.
Literature/Grapevine Chair – 1 year commitment, 1 year sobriety requirement – Maintains constant inventory of literature supplies, such as big books, 12x12, pamphlets, newcomer packets, etc.; keeps cabinets replenished and organized; replenishes desire, monthly, and annual chips.
Intergroup Rep - 1 year commitment, 1 year sobriety requirement – Attend the monthly Intergroup meeting to update our information and report about Lambda events to the Intergroup. • Meeting Chair - 6 month commitment, 6 month sobriety requirement – Responsible for ensuring all scheduled meetings have a chair, and meeting chairs have access to the building/literature needed to chair, thus ensuring continuity and smooth operation of the group.
Center 12 Representative - 6 month commitment, 6 month sobriety requirement – Liaises between and the group as a whole - attends Lambda Business meeting and reports Center 12 updates to the group as a whole.
Social Chair - 6 month commitment, 6 month sobriety requirement – Facilitates and coordinates social activities for the group, including Birthday Night, group dinners, outings, and other opportunities for fellowship.
Women’s Meeting Representative - 6 month commitment, 3 month sobriety requirement – Liaises between the women’s meeting and the group as a whole - attends Lambda Business meeting and reports the women’s meetings thoughts to the group as a whole.
Big D Roundup “BDR” Representative - 6 month commitment, 3 month sobriety requirement – Liaises between the BDR and the group as a whole - attends Lambda Business meeting and reports BDR updates to the group as a whole.
Game Night Representative - 6 month commitment, 6 month sobriety requirement – Facilitates, coordinates and hosts weekly game night.
